A “Transponder Chip Key” is a type of car key. Transponder Chip Keys feature embedded codes that correspond with a particular vehicle, thus allowing the chip key to start and operate only that specific vehicle. Used as an additional method of security, Transponder Chip Keys help to keep auto theft down by allowing only the driver with the correct car key to start the vehicle.
These chip keys can look like ordinary keys, and most of the time we would need to use our state of the art equipment to diagnose and identify a Chip Key.
